Our Design Process

  • Free In-home Design Consultation.

On contacting Dubworks we will refer you to our staff Interior Design Consultant, Mary Jo Hren, who will set up a time to meet with you at your home for a free initial design consultation. The process starts with an in-depth survey and site assessment that gives our designer an opportunity to listen to your concerns, hopes, and dreams while discovering the characteristics that define your personal style and values.

Initial Budgetary Proposal & Design Concept

Mary Jo will schedule a follow up meeting to present an initial design concept, developed as a 3D model, along with our initial budgetary proposal. If you wish to proceed to detail design, we require a non-refundable design retainer fee based on 10% of the initial budget amount that will be credited to your order.

    Detail Design Development.

In this phase Mary Jo will continue to work closely with you to refine the design, assisting with the selection of wood species, door style, and finish including coordination with other design elements in your home. She will also execute an accurate field measure to ensure that all dimensions are perfectly accurate. As an NKBA certified kitchen and bath specialist, Mary Jo is knowledgeable about construction requirements as well as the latest products in appliances, plumbing fixtures, and lighting.

    Sign-off and Production Schedule

On completion of the detail design you will be presented with a revised proposal along with CAD drafted shop drawings and finish samples for your approval. We will determine a production schedule based on when you need your cabinetry delivered. Typically we can deliver completed cabinetry within four to six weeks after sign-off. We also require a 50% deposit before proceeding with the manufacture of your cabinetry.

    Delivery and Installation.

As production of your cabinetry nears completion, we will contact you to schedule the delivery and installation. Mary Jo typically will visit the job site at the beginning and end of installation to ensure that the process goes smoothly. She will meet with you for a final walk-through inspection to make sure any concerns of yours are addressed post-installation. The balance on the cabinetry will be due on delivery. Final payment of installation charges is due on completion of installation.
